Technology Transfer Group Awarded Rights to GATF Security Printing Technology
|
July 21,1998 - Technology Transfer Group (TTG), a wholly owned division of
Polestar Ltd of Flatts, Bermuda was recently awarded the worldwide
rights to represent and license the anti copying KOPOUT and
security printing technology invented and patented by the Graphic
Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) of Swickley, Pennsylvania.. TTG
specializes in technology transfers in the security printing
field
TTG will help market and will negotiate all licensing
agreements on behalf of GATF for this exciting new security
printing technology. Licenses will be offered to printers around
the world on a category and geographic basis. It is expected that
this new technology will have broad applications in the security
printing field. Relative ease of application and low cost will
play a major role creating an impressive market for KOPOUT.
This technology was developed by GATF as an offshoot of its
research on security papers for the U.S. Government. Subsequently
a U.S. Trademark Registration and a U.S. Patent were awarded to
GATF for KOPOUT. The technology combines the use of specially
coated metallized or plasticized paper with a diffractive optical
variable device resulting in information that cannot be
copied.
TTG was formed in 1995 to take advantage of the knowledge and
experience jointly held by its team in the general printing area
as well as holography, international business and technology
transfers. Wendell Smith, CEO of Polestar Ltd, is one of TTG's
founders. Smith is former Chairman, CEO of Baldwin Technologies
and has spent over 30 years in the worldwide printing field.
Clifford Angers manages TTG and brings over 25 years of
international marketing and strategic planning to the group.
TTG has successfully participated in technology transfers
around the world and currently represents technologies of the
Globe Ticket and Label Co. of Atlanta, Georgia and the NovaVision
Co. of Bowling Green, Ohio in select markets throughout the world.
